Golfvante met Albin Tidén during the HotelPlanner Tour in Odense
During the week, Golfvante was in Odense, Denmark to follow the Danish Golf Challenge on the HotelPlanner Tour and meet our partner player Albin Tidén. It was a few intense days filled with professional tour golf, long days out on the course, practice rounds, preparations and a unique opportunity to get even closer to life behind the scenes of international elite golf.
For us at Golfvante, golf is about much more than just results. It's about the passion for the sport, the feel of every shot, the details of the equipment and the people who put in an enormous amount of work every week to be able to compete at the highest level. Having the opportunity to follow a player like Albin Tidén during a competition week on the HotelPlanner Tour gave a very inspiring insight into how much it actually takes to perform in professional golf today.
Odense offered really nice conditions during the week and the competition attracted a strong international starting field with players from all over Europe. Already during the practice days it was noticeable that the course would place high demands on the players. Fairways needed to be hit, the greens were fast and small margins could quickly make a big difference in the score list.
Albin started the competition solidly with a first round of 72 strokes. Although it was not the start he himself had hoped for, there were many positive aspects to the game. The pace looked good, the ball hitting was stable and the feeling for the rest of the week was still positive. At this level it is often about being patient and waiting for the momentum to come.
And it really did on Friday.
In the second round, Albin showed what a high level he possesses when everything starts to fall into place. With aggressive but controlled play, he went around with an impressive 64 strokes, which was one of the better scores of the day. Birdies started falling early and self-confidence grew with each hole. It was clearly noticeable out on the course that the rhythm, focus and security in the game were there.
After Friday's strong round, Albin quickly moved up the leaderboard and created a really good starting position for the weekend. It also became clear how small the margins are in professional golf. One day you can be far down the field and the next day you can be fighting for top positions.
When Golfvante met Albin on Saturday, the feeling was very positive. Despite the high pace during the competition week, there was a calm and focus in the preparations for the weekend's decisive rounds. We talked a lot about how tough the competition is on the HotelPlanner Tour and how important it is to continue to believe in your game even when the results vary from week to week.
It's easy to underestimate the level of tour golf when you follow the results from home. But standing next to the players on the course gives a completely different understanding of the precision, discipline and quality required. The shots are impressive, but what perhaps stands out most is the mental work. Traveling week after week between different competitions, adapting to new courses and performing under pressure at the same time is something that requires extreme professionalism.
For us at Golfvante, it is also very valuable to spend time with players on tour. Our golf gloves are constantly being developed with a focus on feel, comfort, grip and performance – and feedback from players competing at an international level helps us continue to improve the details of our products.
During the week in Odense, there were many conversations about feel and equipment. In golf, details are crucial and the golf glove is one of the most important contact surfaces between the player and the club. When the pressure is high and every stroke matters a lot, the equipment must function perfectly. That is why it is important for us to constantly develop premium golf gloves that meet the demands of both tour players and passionate golfers.
There was therefore a lot of positive to take away from Sunday's final round. The form looked strong, the game had shown a high level during the week and the possibility of a really good placement was still alive.
Sunday, however, was tougher in terms of results.
As is often the case in golf, small margins can quickly change a round. A few missed opportunities and a couple of costly mistakes meant that the round never really got the momentum it needed. Albin fought all the way in but finished the day with a 75.
Overall, he finished at -5 for the week and tied for 56th place in the Danish Golf Challenge in Odense.
The result may not fully reflect the level of play during the week, but at the same time this is precisely what makes professional golf so brutal and fascinating at the same time. Four rounds are required and the competition is fierce from the first to the last shot. At the same time, the week clearly showed that the capacity is there and that the game is of a high international level.
For Golfvante, it was incredibly inspiring to follow the competition on site and spend time with Albin during the week. Getting close to tour life provides both motivation and new perspectives in our continued work to develop golf gloves for golfers who want to perform at a high level.

Representing Swedish golf on international tours requires hard work, patience and an enormous passion for the sport – something that is really noticeable when you follow the everyday life on the tour up close.
During the week in Odense we also had the opportunity to meet many golf enthusiasts around the competition. It is always inspiring to meet golfers from different parts of Europe and talk about the sport, equipment and passion for golf. The interest in premium golf gloves and quality equipment continues to grow and we clearly notice how more golfers today are looking for products with better feel, fit and materials.
