Best grip on golf gloves – test & comparison
Which golf glove provides the best grip? To find out, we conducted a thorough test in 20 degree heat during the summer at Lyckorna Golfklubb in Bohuslän . Our goal was to compare how different materials and models perform in terms of grip, feel and durability – so that you as a golfer can find the glove that best suits your game.
So we did the test
The test was conducted over a full day at Bokskogen Golf Club , where we played 18 holes on the classic parkland course. The conditions were stable with a dry course, light breeze and temperatures around 20 degrees – typical late summer conditions in Skåne.
- The models tested were Estándard, Riptide, Standard, Anchor and Norma .
- The focus was on grip in different situations: drive, iron shots, close play.
- Materials (cabretta leather, synthetic and mix) were compared to see how they affected both grip and feel.
- Extra point: we also tested the grip with light moisture on the grip and glove to simulate playing in the rain.
Each glove was assessed on grip, feel and comfort , and then the models were ranked.
The importance of the material for grip
- Cabretta leather – superior feel and best grip in dry conditions. Indonesian cabretta leather in particular is considered the best in the world, which was confirmed in the test.
- Synthetic – durable and affordable, but often with weaker grip and feel.
- Mix (cabretta + synthetic) – an in-between that provides better grip than pure synthetic but doesn't quite reach the level of premium cabretta.
Test results – best grip on golf gloves
- Standard – best in test
Made from AAA cabretta leather from Indonesia , it delivered the best grip and feel in the test. A premium glove for the discerning golfer. - Riptide – for extra grip
Designed for maximum grip even in rain and moisture, and impressed in our rainy weather. - Standard – the customer favorite
Stable performance with Cabretta leather. Our best-selling glove, and rightly so. - Anchor – okay alternative
Acceptable grip, but not close to the Cabretta models. - Norma – cheap training glove
Affordable synthetic glove for training, but last in the test when it comes to grip.
Conclusion
If you want the best grip in a golf glove, the Standard is the obvious choice. For those who often play in the rain or want extra grip security, the Riptide is the strongest candidate. If you are looking for an affordable all-round model, the Standard is always a safe bet.
